Maybe because I worked 2 decades for an assurance: 24/21,22/21 is a live assurance, whatever happens and there are some jokers if I don't hit.

For the double hit 8/7*,6/3 to be right is simply not enough ammunition in the zone and it isn't guaranted that the checker on the one will be recirculated.

8/5,6/5 can't be off by much, but the white checker on the 22 will vanish sooner or later and than making the 5 is much easier than making the 21.
