I took pessimistic route ...

..which is often wrong while considering take/pass decision. After reading all yours comments I would take this but it is too late:-(

Blue is eight pips ahead in race, has one checker back as white has, white is on the bar and can dance with 66 for example, white has blot in outfield, blue has very sound offense with three point prime and 11pt as additional asset. White has only two point board and 'only' four and half point prime. There are not many G's around.

Bad things are that white has a direct shot but blue can than make advanced anchor. White has 41 as his best and 1s and other 4s except 64 for total 17 fine rolls which is not overwhelming.

There is just still too much play into this game and blue has (except checker on his acept) all his checkers into play, so now I think it is too early for pass. Have to take optimistic way of thinking in such volatile positions.
