I was watching this match and recall the comentator said he would have passed if Matt was anchored --presumably on the 2qpt -- and without an anchore the pass seemed obvious -- maybe not exact words. To me, the double is clear and the take/pass is not. 21 pips is a large racing advantage but the opened 20 point gives White some hope. If White were anchored on the 21 point, then I am fairly confident she has a take. Without the anchor things can get grim very quickly but we need to keep in mind the 22 point checker also provides her extra contact. Right now, 63 is bad for Blue and there are a few other rolls that would play better if White had an anchor on the 21 point instead but they pale in comparison to the risk of being attacked when checkers are split. Overall, a low confidence pass for me.
