Even though the breakdown of the stats would suggest 3, 2 is more than ever so slightly correct, running is just trailing. (3, 2 comes out ahead at dmp too) What running now does is force our opponent to send a somewhat inefficient cube.

Two down from the midpoint doesn't waste for the race but it relieves the immediate pressure we have on the opp's midpoint and he's running low on free checkers to play.
