Position of the Day 11-3-23

This roll puts us ahead in the race. The two candidates I would consider are 11/5(2) and 14/8(2). Normally one clears the rearmost point first. In this position, though, the 11pt is within direct-shot range of White's anchor while the 14pt is not. Also, our racing lead is not that great, so we wouldn't mind hitting White when she runs off her anchor. Still, I would play 14/8(2). It gives us spares to play while we wait to clear our 11pt. If we were behind in the race then I would be inclined to play 11/5(2).
