Sam's idea of clearing the 7pt is the only way to go. The idea is to bear in our checkers to our high inner board points in preparation for the safest bear off possible. To do this we certainly don't want our bar point as our sixes would eventually waste to the ace if we didn't clear it early. Clearing it makes all of our other points lift via large numbers again, to the points we want to bear in to.
It should be noted if the opponent was in more timing trouble it could be correct to keep the solid 6 prime making it so he couldn't run off an anchor and he'd be forced to break his forward position.
