I think I tend to underrate plays like 6/4*/3, but I'm willing to play it here. This doesn't make a third point, but there are still eleven checkers in the zone, and White has no hitters and only four anchoring numbers. 5(2) leaves ten shots and ten anchoring numbers. Seems like too much to give.

Another thing I like about the pick and pass is that it unstacks the 6 point just as well as the other play does.
