If I were well ahead, I would just come around, make the 10, dump a checker behind, and cube next roll. Here, I am not much of a favorite in the race, so I would hit. Then, playing to the 10 for least return shots or making 3pt may depend on where the cube is. If I felt like I have a strong cube regardless, I would play it safe to the 10. Here, I don't have like I have a strong cube after this play. Too much to do, position is not flexible enough, not enough ahead in the race, blah blah blah. If I instead make the 3pt and White responds with some mediocre roll, cube is very strong, and I am not sure if White should take it. Seems to me aggressive play may gain enough at the risk of a few more shots. 4(2) 3(2) it is.
