Rules Check?

No, I wasn't a fan of the new rule, in a different post I mentioned I saw nothing wrong with the old way. (I preferred it.) But I am getting used to it. ( I also prefer baffle boxes but I can see that not being set in stone and that's fine.)

What I am a fan of is, 'this dice rule was hashed out and passed, why relive it each tournament'.

And as I mentioned about watching a stream, the fact that two top players were unsure of the rule when they began their match, I didn't like. Plus, now if a new player watches the NY streamed matches, and sees them reroll the die on a checker, they'll be insisting to their friends "that's the rule! can't be on the checker, reroll!"

The tourney's should be mainly run for the pleasure of the participants. So I am not slighting the NY Open directors and any decisions. Judging by the number of entrants they did a fine job. And the rules allowed them to decide no die on a checker, so that's OK.

No more posts from me about it.
