A great example of how just looking naively at the doubling window (about 65 -80) can send one wrong.

It is very simple once it is realized that if you don't cube now and miss your opponent will double. Since would be losing games on 2 anyways, double now to get to get the extra point on the 4 winning doubles.

Against a player who might not cube, the practical play might differ of course.
