Hit, one down, and then we can clear the 9p or the mid. Clearing the mid maintains 4 points in front of white which might be nice if we're hit. If we're not hit then we have cleared the rearmost point which is also nice.

The downside is having 8 checkers on the 8 but if white comes in high then those spares might not be so bad as we can dump them behind white.
