Since the remaining checker on the 18 point will be (in some way) taboo if we play 18/12 with the six, why not consider playing 9/8 with the one.

Even the double hit will not hurt too much. And if White next roll doesn't contain a six, the reward will be huge.

So my play is 18/12, 9/8.

How come it is not in your rollout top 7 ?
