Like Paul said, if you're on autopilot and do something like make the 5 prime you're getting seriously dinged. It is partially what he said in that we don't want the opponent to make another anchor but also we make the point instead of hit loose on the point because, once again, there is another blot floating around. Remove the opp's blot from his 11pt and put it on the midpoint or the 8pt and now perhaps we hit loose and keep our prime/structure instead of switching. Variant shown below.
