My guess is that the main thing we have to worry about in this position is getting primed. We're not yet in a position to start winning going forward, so hitting doesn't accomplish much.

It's a little hard to test this theory with just one or two variants on the position, but in general, I think if we weaken White's prime, we'll find that jumping over the prime becomes less urgent.
