8/2 is much better for burning a checker than 7/1. 7/1 leaves you with 1's 2's and 4's to make the 4 point, but we want 4's to escape with if Stick fails to cover his blot on the bar point. 8/2 leaves us with 1's 2's and 3's to make the 4 point.
