If blue hits, white will need 8 crossovers to save gammon while blue needs 16. Meanwhile, hitting exposes two shots immediately and possibly others in the bear off. Is it worth the risk for so few gammons? Maybe at GG, but AtS I'll just slide by. Note that hits are fatal since white owns the cube.
