OT - French Open 1st Round Draw/Seeding

I'm not sure if Wimbledon still does it but I know in the past that tournament used to take recent grass court results into its formula to determine seeds.

Also, while Majors strictly follow ATP rankings for the most part, I believe they're allowed to seed players any way they see fit.

To me it only makes sense in these odd scenarios to have the liberty to seed a player wherever a committee believes they should be seeded. Another example would be after Seles got stabbed in '93. She didn't come back til '95. Her first tournament back, the Canadian Open, she was given a dual #1 ranking along with Steffi Graf.

The only other tournament Seles played that year was the US Open where they ranked her #2 behind Steffi and she lost in the finals ... to Steffi.
