I usually gravitate towards offense rather than defense, but here I have the chance to make the bar point and take most of white's hits away. Making the four point it tempting but making the 18 and bringing one down looks more flexible and since it takes the lead in the race the safe play seems thematic.

24/18 10/8 leaves no shots but seems too timid at this stage of the game with neither side having a board. 24/18 13/11.
