*Clarification #1*

The name of the software is the 'Backgammon Rules *Assistant*'.

I very purposefully included 'Assistant' in the naming in advance to try and head off any misunderstanding of its intended usage at the pass.

To clarify, ***the software is *definitely not* intended to make binding, unilateral, autonomous decisions on its own***

Its prime directive is to provide support to and assist the human Tournament Director, Rules Committee, Club Administrator, Referee or Players who are considering a 'situation' at hand.

*Clarification #2*

I am also preparing proof-of-concept test bots for some other interested parties. But (imo) it would be fantastic and optimal if everyone could just use one set of rules.

It would be ideal if the respective Federations could discuss with each other and finally agree upon a common global ruleset.

To my mind, the USBGF has done some excellent and detailed work in developing and refining their comprehensive framework.

This has been evidenced by what I understand is their relatively recent agreements with other Federations.

I am in the process of raising this important question with those who have the power, wisdom and diplomatic skills to give the ultimate goal of global rule unification (perhaps with a minimized number of regional/organisational optional 'toggles') the very best chance of success.

In the meantime, I may be up for porting to other Federation's rulesets (and possibly native languages) along the line, although I am wary that this could hinder the blue-sky goal of unification. Hopefully it won't be necessary.

I'm open to (and interested in) polite, logical discussions approached with a spirit of camaraderie and positivity to debate the pros (and cons) around all of this.
