Behind in the race says bold. Fewer checkers back, white's stronger board, and our homeboard blot point towards a safe play. So, I'll anchor up to be safe - white will feel free to hit loose if we don't. Where to play the three? 6/3 seems too passive, 8/5* looks too loose, so I suppose that leaves unstacking the midpoint. Do I like this play? No, not at all. But I'll give it a try.
