Blue is behind in the race, has more checkers back, and has the better board. That calls for a bold play. Playing off the anchor seems less bold than just unnecessarily risky. A tempo hit on the ace is worth a look, but I'll just bring two down. Either I build the prime or I get hit and maybe get a viable backgame. That play only gives nine in the zone, so the blitz would be weak, but it seems like the best option.
