I guess that the number of "Everyone" that had never played before BG (aka A) is much larger than B so my choice would be B.

Let's say that everyone is about 4 Billion (half is too young, to old, whatever) you need a knockout with about 32 rounds. Not for 1-pointer but if 7-pointer I would expect at least one from the BMAB top 100 under the last 8...
