It is not a fair comparison having one with centered cube and one with blue holding the cube. After each play in the initial position it will be a double take (though an inneficient one near double or not boundary for the better play) so may as well consider the cube was turned already. That would make the difference between the plays be cut in half making the relative swing go down from .194 to .099.

Still a large swing but this explains about half of it.
