4/2?? Okay, not really. But seriously outboarded and with no men back, we should at least consider the zero shot play: 6/2 4/2. Unfortunately, it makes a seventh point and leaves our lone spare in the wrong place, while White rates to swing the outfield blot around, leaving us with a static, brittle position next turn.

After 13/9* I like 9/7. This is safer (seven shots vs ten) than 15/13, at the cost of letting White break a less important point to hit. But the spare on 7 puts pressure on White's trailing blot, as well as any other checkers that may enter low in our board. As we release our midpoint, White will need to get a back checker into the outfield soon or face timing problems.
