Is there some theme that's common to these Bot Battle posts, or are they just interesting positions?

Here, we have an even race and a mutual holding game. Volunteering a shot seems anti-positional so I'll just clear the 8 point. It seems a bit better than clearing the seven since it doesn't bury checkers as deep.
