When backing W (Wild, bar/21 6/5), ah_clem might have subconsciously remembered the result of his own short GnuBG rollout from 11 years ago. The 62S-61P-41 play decision is "tied," though, because 24/23 takes White's stripped 8pt into account. Other candidate plays are closer, too.
62S-61P-31 (which resembles 62S-61P-41) is a position that Paul and I pondered for Backgammon Openings (2007). It wasn't useful for our book outline because multiple plays are very close or tied.
