Well, this is one problem where you can't cheat with XG beforehand! (Ok, you could get some idea of the equities by inputting Tim's incorrect position, with 'only' 15 for both players.) Your first question implies that the side with an extra back chequer might not be at a disadvantage. Really? Ignoring QF I'd definitely take the side with 15 pieces.
