A = 4/1 3/1, B = 6/4 6/3, C = 9/4. Each has its own strengths and drawbacks.

Choice A gains a tempo and leaves no blots but ace point will often be out of play in a few turns.

Choice B leaves no blots and no checkers out of play but 3 point and 9 point don't play well together.

Choice C is the biggest play. If things go bad we will at least have the better anchor and better priming formation and opponent has no points in outfield other than 8 point to help bring things around.

My play is choice C. 9/4.
