MCG RefPos from an old Gammon Village article

All three of those have 18 pips of timing and are borderline takes according to XGR++.

So, it appears 18 is the magic number for the take/pass decision.

When does the doubling window open (or close, if you want to think about it chronologically)?

That doesn't seem to be so simple. Position A is a cube with only 7 pips of timing, but position B isn't quite a cube with eight. But a doubling window of 8-18 is probably good enough for my purposes, assuming I can remember any of this.
