I don't know what Nack says, but do I know someone who says the three point is a POS.

A rule of thumb is "make either five point before making either four or bar point".

But there are exceptions and this seems to be one. A five prime with the opponent not at the edge is very strong, and I don't see the urgency in making an advanced anchor since my game play is to prime rather than submit to a holding game. I make the four point here.
