I agree there are a lot of details that should go into making cube adjusted decisions other than just a staggered MET. Even using your example of if the checker play for the weaker player was tougher would it make it a take? Well first we have to remember that the PR difference we used is only 3 where in reality I bet it's much larger. After that it depends what kind of weaker player we have. What if his checker plays are wrong per XG but they're aggressive gammon winning checker plays, might they be right or at least not as wrong given the skill difference? Also, in a recube position as the much stronger player you're often taking what is essentially a dead cube. Sure, XG might double at some point but it's a lot harder for a human to find that emaciated window. It's best to think of it as dead because really, if you average 5 PR better than your opponent what kind of position do you think you're going to get to where you want to put the match on the line? There isn't one really so owning the cube is worthless but that's not what a bot will think.
