If you stay on the 23, White leaves a direct with 65 and 63. If you move up to the 22, White's shot-leaving numbers are 65 and 61. So the same number either way. Moving up to the 22 does force White to give up the 8 (or leave a direct) with 64 and 63 and to dump spares to the 1 and 2 with a 54 while staying on the 23 only weakens White's 51 since the other 5s clear the mid and just leave a 17/1 shot. Coming up to the 22 also gives you 66 and 44 as good racing numbers compared to just 55 from the 23. If you stay on the 23, you can get an extra crossover to save the g by playing 13/6. I don't think White will double after either play so I guess I'd play 13/7 23/22.
