In deciding whether a double is a take or a pass, does XG use its LCTPs? They seem to be based on the assumption that you can redouble at exactly the win probability (in the gammonless scenario) at which your opponent is indiffeent between taking and passing. But this depends on the type of position, being most likely to occur in a long race (Schiemann, Theory of Backgammon page 34) and rather unlikely in, for example, a holding game (Kleinmann, Vision Laughs page 274).
Does XG take account of the type of position? If it does, then its LCTPs are not used and just a curiosity. If it does not, then it is using LCTPs which are of limited accuracy.
BMAB rankings are based on PR and PR is based on XG's perception of correct doubling decisions. I wish there were a comprehensive explanation of what XG does.
