Magriel's bold v. safe is not applicable in extreme situations. We're in dire straits so the upside of hitting and getting a potential fan or a mediocre entering number I think would outweigh cleaning up an outfield blot and letting the opponent smash us in his inner board anyway. (oh, and have I said 'play from your stacks in the last 5 minutes?)
