What I enjoy most about your post is you make what I find a bit of an insulting hypothesis, that we here at BGO can't have the discussion because people are too biased on any GOAT discussion. Then, in what can only be marked as a genius coup de grace you support that theory by doing it yourself! Touché mon grand, touché.
Another remarkable thing about your post is your unwillingness to even listen to someone who you know and would openly admit knows (a lot) more about the topic than you do.
For eg, I don't think there's a GOAT debate for golf. I grew up golfing my dad and brother golfed and we watched golf a lot. It has been quite a while since I've cared about golf and only watch it on the odd occasion nowadays. (and never play) If you were to bring up the subject of GOAT and disagreed with my preconceived thoughts I'd at least have the respect to read it and see what you had to say instead of being totally dismissive out of the gate. That's because I acknowledge that you know more about the game/players, esp the modern game, than I do. The fact that you're still(?) an avid golfer doesn't hurt either.
So while you can dismiss there is no debate on the tennis GOAT discussion I will tell you this short story and leave you to it. These past couple of weeks was the 1000 tournament at Indian Wells. I went the first week while the qualifiers were still going and stayed into the actual start of the tournament. One of the reasons I went so early was I had booked some special tennis clinics. At one of these clinics there were two former but modern ATP players involved. During the down time they were asked the question unbiasedly. Both of them said Federer and went into a bit of detail as to why.
So, fair enough if you don't think there's a debate. You don't have to read it. To be brazen enough to ignore not only myself but actual former professionals who still have Fed as their answer is impressive and not in a good way.
