Blue goes up by 6 pips with this roll (well, 2 since he's not on roll). Usually, ahead in the race implies break contact and race. Is white's position so messed up that it's worth maintaining contact, but I'm not seeing it.

I'll just clear the midpoint and hope to win the race here. Against a clearly inferior player I'd consider keeping contact so that skill plays more of a role.
