Certainly an easy take for White but still a correct double. The 4 high doubles win right away and a "takes 2 checkers off/takes one off" sequence is a big market loser. Likewise if both players roll a single ace. If both sides take two checkers off, it will mostly be D/T next time so there's nothing lost by cubing before this roll.
