I am not hitting as I think the race is close enough that it hurts to get hit and it would cost the bar point to do so. So, it's either clean up the blots with 21,13 or upgrade the anchor 18,16.

Upgrading the anchor has the following advantages: We cover the board better which is useful as we are still trailing in the race. However, we're only trailing a little and that means a higher anchor is easier to time than a deep anchor. 42 is duped. If we're hit, then we can still hope to get lucky and form a deep anchor with the checker on 24.

The safe play has no other advantages than being safe but as we're trailing in the race I think we need to make it harder for white to come home.

18,16 it is.
