Thanks for the discussion guys. I was (am) confused. I picked 6/2(2) specifically for more gammons. (Really just to be different since it looked about as good to me) Yet it's not the gammon go winner. So my thinking was all wet.

Maybe if Blue anchors on the four or five the cube for a holding game is efficient. The 8/4(2) looks more pure, so I would've thought that was the better play for more efficient cubes.
