Some arguments. I don’t what you mean by ethical arguments and make no claims about them being so.

1) A player aesthetically prefers the experience with cups.

2) Baffle boxes can be rigged. Who can certify a box as being fair?

3) If checkers are always rolled on same side viewers of a stream might not know who is on turn.

4) There is potential for confusion on how first roll of a game is to be done.
