Even if you exercise a right to require that a clock is used, and your opponent - aware of the issues with cups that can arise here - wishes both players to use one?
" It makes inputting matches cumbersome." Stick
I have yet to transcribe a match. Jason has though, and doesn't have your problem.
"It's worse for people who are watching the match especially if they aren't laser focused on that match alone. (nobody multitasks and plays with their phones right?)" Stick
Checking whose clock is running solves this.
"It forces the opponent to scrutinize every roll to make sure both dice went through the baffle box." Stick
Easy enough to do. Even if a player is not looking directly at the box, a die bouncing out of the opening is easily noticed. Less common, but if a die was dropped just in front of the box, this should also stand out. Many rollers will, anyway, instantly remark on an issue. With cups do you not also have to be aware of what the opponent is doing (or not doing)?
