Broken rules in BG

I guess you two may be referring to a player picking up the dice before his opponent has ended his turn, particularly when clocked?
Whether you are or not, it is clear that, despite the delay setting, this can result in less banked time being used by the player, or none at all. Though the practice is generally more common during bear-offs, even then a player might have a chequer play that is not clear, or more commonly might consider offering the cube.
I actually think there is a more insidious advantage to this illegal practice. This is, of course, where a player - who has made a play, and may be just about to press their clock - at the last moment perceives they have overlooked a play. If their opponent had not been so hasty, they would be more likely to pause and reconsider, but in that brief window of time the dice grab succeeds in pressurising them into ending their turn, perhaps making a howler. This might be a deliberate ploy on this occasion by their opponent, but it is still bad if they routinely do this, with the same outcome.
