What's Missing in Backgammon

I think we need electronic dice generators. :D

Watching streams with players rolling and snatching up the dice can be hard to follow, sometimes on the streams the camera warps the dice making them harder to read, or the colors make them harder to read. I don't get why no clear electronic rolls, except nobody has built something. I know I'd happily use a combo dice generator and a clock. But then again, I haven't been to a tourney except local ones and the comments on here is that players hate baffle boxes or the idea of electronic dice. (I like both.)

So I don't watch streams. I'll read match transcripts. But I have to believe if I find matches hard to follow, what about newer players? I'm no pro but I've seen a lot of backgammon.

Also, I'd love characters in the game, propositions, bets.

But if the dice aren't electronic some of those characters I'd require a baffle box... !

Which btw makes streams easier to follow for me, as they are always on the same side. (I can tell who's play it is by who just moved or who moves.)

And no, my above comments will make no difference in popularity. It's just what I wish for.
