A great player once told me that a failed blitz is often worse than it looks. Here White has a failed blitz and now has a clear pass. Both sides have 3 point boards but Blue is on roll which makes him about a 27 to 7 favorite to enter before White does. Notice that all 27 entering numbers hit somewhere and put a 2nd checker on the roof. White will then need an immediate 5 to have much chance in the game.
