If you make the 16 with this roll, you probably will have to hit loose some time later when White's board figures to be fairly strong. I'd make the 16 at DMP but I think you win enough extra net gammons by hitting. 13/4* looks to be the best way to hit as it keeps a spare on the 8. Hitting is the more decisive play which is sometimes indicated when your opponent owns the cube. OTOH, the ratio of extra net g's/extra losses has to be slightly over 2/1 since White owns the cube. Not sure but I think hitting meets that standard.
