I've been lucky enough to see something similar many times before. Noteworthy points of the position are:

  • The opponent has less than nothing going offensively. Since the beginning of the game he has actually removed two men from the zone and made no new points and has no new/diversified builders. This means we have no fear in getting hit or having men sent back.
  • It rates to be a long ass game because the opponent has the timing for whatever he wants at this point.
  • Our main idea loosely stated if we can make it work is to recirculate checkers forming an exterior prime that forces our opponent somewhere along the way to destroy his position. Given how long the game rates to be he'll have plenty of chances to throw those medium to large doubles that could totally destroy his game plan. This is especially true if we're able to recirculate and make the key 9pt.
  • We really don't want our opponent to make another anchor in our board as then he'll have options as to which anchor to break and when.

All of this points to 4/1*. How much to trust an XG rollout is always in question but I've found over the years it has agreed with me enough that I trust it :)
