18/8 is the "normal" play. 18/14 8/2 is the QF play. Why might the QF play be better?

By exposing a double shot, blue hopes to get hit and pick up a third checker. Does that outweigh the downside of burying one on the deuce? Seems to me that white won't hit unless forced and she won't be forced to hit except for 66, plus 62 if blue plays the QF play. Are those two extra forced hits enough to compensate for the burial?

I'm unconvinced, so it's the normal 18/8 play for me, despite the fact that the 8 point is fairly useless.
