Far from it. Of course I'm disappointed and frustated after missing a great chance for the second time now. And obvioulsy Sequeira won't be my first choice when I search companion for enjoying a beer. But fact is that _I_ played louzy in the SF and I _also_ coudn't stand his gimcracks during the match. Gimcracks which are fortunately rare but sadly not uncommon when one goes for the big title."
Neil replies: Doesn't MC have some rule about using one hand to move the pieces ? Do they have some rule about illegal moves ? Regardless of what rules they have or don't or what is understood by your opponent to be the "rules", if his checking shuffling and occasional illegal moves were bothering you..STOP IMMEDIATELY and get the DIRECTOR. My experience with co-director Markowitz is that he doesn't tolerate BS like what Mario was doing from players. Howard could then tell Mario to play with only 1 hand, or at least to make certain he wasn't making illegal moves. If this continued, more serious measures could be taken.
SO..as I've told many players, if they think their opponents are doing something shady (perhaps just do to nervousness) call the DIRECTOR(s). If they don't understand a rule, call the directors... etc etc.
Regarding Sequeria's checker moving style and illegal moves during the last two rounds. I have to ask, 1) Was the a 3-card Monte championship or a BG championship ? and, more importantly 2) Why didn't his opp's call the director(s) and complain, if they were bothered by it ?
