I wrote a fairly long analysis that somehow got eated by the server.

The short answer is that I picked the correct play for all the wrong reasons, after seeing XG's rollout.

Although I think I did hit on the right questions:

Which play wins more backgammons? Which play wins more gammons? Are those extra backgammons worth it AtS?

Good problem.
