Doesn't MC have some rule about using one hand to move the pieces ?
No idea. My fault not having looked at it before
Do they have some rule about illegal moves ?
The only rule I know from there is that you can't insist on playing "legal moves." That's what I asked before, not because of my opponent but rather because I wanted a recorded "clean" match.
2) Why didn't his opp's call the director(s) and complain, if they were bothered by it ?
I don't know whether Lars was bothered or not. I was, yes. And I felt pressure of being blamed by not recognizing illegal moves.
Why didn't I ask for the tournament director? I don't know. Maybe because it happened mostly in the first games and then only once or twice during the rest of the match. Maybe I also thought that we have just another spectator because the referee isn't allowed to insist if I don't point on an illegal move.
It was a lack of experience on my side, because I usually only play in Denmark, where there is a different approach to the game. All I can say is that I don't blame the tournament director for this, I also played horrible in the SF, I learned a lot from this experience ... and still got some money ;-).
Most likely a professional player would have reacted totally different. In the past eight years I played only Nordic Open (and elite division in Denmark), last year I started participating in Monte Carlo again. This is apparently not enough.
